Overview:
Monte Rosa Therapeutics seeks to recruit a highly motivated Analytical Chemistry/Compound Management scientist eager to enable the discovery of molecular glue degraders (MGDs). The successful candidate will be a key contributor responsible for the characterization of novel small-molecule glue-based degraders, enabling Monte Rosa’s growing pipeline.The scientist will independently perform compound purity assays, including proactive and retrospective analyses of internal libraries while supporting associated compound management activities.
Responsibilities:
Compound Management- Process compound requests with accuracy and efficiency using automated workflows, liquid handling tools, and sample management systems
- Prepare 384-well compound plates for follow-ups for high throughput screens, ensuring quality and timely delivery
- Maintain the integrity of the compound management process by performing quality control procedures on liquid handling equipment and troubleshooting issues
- Maintain accurate records of compound intake, distribution, and storage with LIMS
- Accurately weigh, dissolve, and transfer compound aliquots
- Closely collaborate with team members to accurately and efficiently fulfill compound distribution requests
- Key operations leader for acquisition, processing, publishing, and interpreting compound purity data (e.g., LCMS QC)
- Accurately and efficiently fulfill compound purity assessment requests from team members
- Maintain detailed internal library purity measurement records
- Regularly prepare and present data summaries to key stakeholders
- Liaise with external vendors to support the organization's analytical chemistry needs
- Work closely with the high throughput screening scientists to ensure timely delivery of compounds for screening campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Compound Management group in Basel to ensure the uniformity of processes across the organization
- Confer with team members across both sites to maintain in-house LCMS instrumentation and associated peripherals
Qualifications:
- BS or MS (or equivalent) in chemistry or related discipline
- 5~8 (BS) or 3~6 (MS) years of experience in an analytical chemistry lab setting, preferably with prior experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
- Prior experience in acquiring, processing, and analyzing small molecule LCMS data
- Experience operating liquid handlers (e.g., Hamilton VANTAGE, Echo) and related automation instrumentation
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to summarize large data sets to enable strategic decision-making
- Keen attention to detail and timely upkeep of accurate experimental records
