Overview:

Monte Rosa Therapeutics seeks to recruit a highly motivated Analytical Chemistry/Compound Management scientist eager to enable the discovery of molecular glue degraders (MGDs). The successful candidate will be a key contributor responsible for the characterization of novel small-molecule glue-based degraders, enabling Monte Rosa’s growing pipeline.

The scientist will independently perform compound purity assays, including proactive and retrospective analyses of internal libraries while supporting associated compound management activities.

Responsibilities:

Compound Management
  • Process compound requests with accuracy and efficiency using automated workflows, liquid handling tools, and sample management systems
  • Prepare 384-well compound plates for follow-ups for high throughput screens, ensuring quality and timely delivery
  • Maintain the integrity of the compound management process by performing quality control procedures on liquid handling equipment and troubleshooting issues
  • Maintain accurate records of compound intake, distribution, and storage with LIMS
  • Accurately weigh, dissolve, and transfer compound aliquots
  • Closely collaborate with team members to accurately and efficiently fulfill compound distribution requests
Analytical Chemistry
  • Key operations leader for acquisition, processing, publishing, and interpreting compound purity data (e.g., LCMS QC)
  • Accurately and efficiently fulfill compound purity assessment requests from team members
  • Maintain detailed internal library purity measurement records
  • Regularly prepare and present data summaries to key stakeholders
  • Liaise with external vendors to support the organization's analytical chemistry needs
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with the high throughput screening scientists to ensure timely delivery of compounds for screening campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Compound Management group in Basel to ensure the uniformity of processes across the organization
  • Confer with team members across both sites to maintain in-house LCMS instrumentation and associated peripherals

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS (or equivalent) in chemistry or related discipline
  • 5~8 (BS) or 3~6 (MS) years of experience in an analytical chemistry lab setting, preferably with prior experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Prior experience in acquiring, processing, and analyzing small molecule LCMS data
  • Experience operating liquid handlers (e.g., Hamilton VANTAGE, Echo) and related automation instrumentation
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to summarize large data sets to enable strategic decision-making
  • Keen attention to detail and timely upkeep of accurate experimental records
