Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals according to menu specifications, paying close attention to dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements
- Follow recipes precisely, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste and maintain freshness
- Assist in portioning and plating meals with care and attention to presentation
- Communicate effectively with dietary staff regarding meal preparations and special requests
- Participate in menu planning discussions, offering creative and nutritious meal ideas
- Handle and operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Demonstrate genuine care for patients by preparing meals that meet their individual needs
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school training preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a line cook, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions accurately
- Excellent attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- A caring attitude and understanding of how food contributes to overall resident well-being
- Meticulous approach to food preparation, especially regarding dietary restrictions
- Strong team player who collaborates effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to adapt to changing menu needs and patient requests with a positive attitude
