Responsibilities:

The Business Office in Administrative Services has an internship opportunity in their Facilities Management department.

What's In It For You?
  • Assist in creating scope for engineering portion of project
  • Assist in creating request for proposal for design services
  • Create estimate for engineering systems portion of project
  • Assist team in creating request for proposal for construction services
  • Work with team on project design
  • Plan reviews
  • Attend design project meetings
  • Analyze bids with team
  • Attend project construction meetings
  • Review of engineering systems product submittals
  • Engineering consultation during the construction phase of the project
  • Engineering inspections during the construction phase of the project
  • Sustainability project work
  • Familiarity with storytelling techniques
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Qualifications:

Who we are looking for:

  • We are seeking current college students majoring in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Plumbing
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to collect, organize, interpret and present complex data
  • Ability to work independently or as apart of a small team

Eligibility: To be eligible for an internship, candidates must be in an undergraduate (sophomore & juniors) or post-graduate program with a graduation date of August 2025 or later.

Dates of internship: May 19, 2025 – August 1, 2025

Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week

Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.

Hourly Rate: $22.00/hour based on a 38.75-hour work week. In addition, selected interns will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend (minus applicable taxes)!

Location: This position will be in a hybrid work environment located in Bloomington, IL.

Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply.
