Full Charge Bookkeeper

Our client is in current pursuit for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will handle bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, full cycle A/P, and payroll.
The Full Charge Bookkeeper will also take care of the clerical staff. If you thrive with minimal supervision under tight deadlines, you might be the accounting detail oriented we're searching for this Bookkeeper role. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Washington, District of Columbia area.

This role is a Direct permanent role and is in the office 3 days a week.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Additional special projects if necessary
  • Document budget transfers
  • Manage monthly accounting close
  • Form cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.
  • Condense business license and gross receipts
  • Skilled in credit card management and reconciliation
  • Arrange cash flow projections, as needed
  • Prepare subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement
  • Group sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments
  • Draw up monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
  • Relevant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills
  • Previous experience working with month end closings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Good understanding of Journal Entry
  • bi-Monthly Payroll experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Bookkeeping Functions
  • Background working with Full Cycle Payroll
  • Foundational knowledge in Full Charge Bookkeeping
  • Full charge bookkeeping experience highly desired
  • Solid understanding of Basic Bookkeeping
  • Practical knowledge of Automated Payroll
  • General familiarity with benefits payroll
  • Earlier work involving general ledger
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping
  • Adeptness in Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
