Overview

We're looking for an Investment Operations specialist to join our team. Whether you're looking for a change or seeking to align with a stable, dependable firm, and you have a passion for insurance and investments, then we believe there's no better place to work.

The functions of this role are to support the firm’s Investment Specialist in day-to-day operational duties, sharing knowledge of investment-related products, and acting in a relationship-building capacity with the firm’s Registered Representatives; and working closely with Home Office to implement and deliver on key initiatives.

While this role does not solicit the sale of insurance or investment products, it does require that you obtain and maintain the FINRA Series 66 & Series 7 securities registrations.

Essential Support Function
  • Collaborate with the Investment Specialist to manage daily Firm activities and the investment calendar.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the paperwork processes and requirements of our broker-dealer, ensuring accurate and timely completion to streamline operations.
  • Facilitate comprehensive orientations and training for new Registered Representatives.
  • Support the recruitment efforts by assisting new Registered Representatives with business transitions.
  • Communicate procedural and practice management updates to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Be proficient in our systems and tools, not only by effectively using them yourself but also by training and encouraging others to utilize them for maximum efficiency.
Product Support
  • Support the development of the brokerage and MMLIS Wealth Management Services (WMS) platforms used in the Firm.
  • Foster value-added relationships with external vendors and wholesalers.
  • Assist in Firm campaigns designed to increase Gross Dealer Concession (GDC) production, contributing to its growth and success.
  • Coordinate and schedule product training sessions with wholesalers, ensuring that the team stays updated with the latest offerings and market trends.
Broker-Dealer Liaison
  • Take an active role in implementing home office initiatives to ensure successful execution. • Collaborate with Home Office Investment Analysts to address challenges and find efficient solutions.
  • Foster partnerships and act as a process owner by providing valuable insights and ideas for business submissions.
Client Experience Responsibilities
  • Coordinates meetings and meeting preparation requirements
  • Reinforces consistent use and documentation of the appropriate factfinding tool, including the archiving of all notes in the CRM
  • Creates and distributes discovery notes and next steps after all prospect and client meetings • Follows up with prospects and clients on outstanding items

Relationship Management Responsibilities:

  • Managing email as needed to include screening for required responses and follow-up • Managing calendar to include scheduling of meetings and travel, communicating with all parties, and meeting confirmations
  • Preparing written communications on behalf of senior leadership
  • Supporting all pre and post meetings (agendas, background research, recaps)
  • Serving as the liaison between the team and the group’s current and prospective brokers and/or clients by providing high-touch and communication

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • To have, or to obtain within 9 months, licenses and registrations (Life, Accident & Health, SIE, S7 and S66) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technology savvy- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation and Location
  • Biweekly compensation based on skills and experience.
  • Benefit package available.
  • Located in Southfield, Michigan, and is in-person.
  • Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 am – 5 pm and Friday, 8 am – 4 pm.
