We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Los Angeles, California. This role involves managing payable accounts, rent receipts, payroll, and resident relations for a portfolio of properties. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including data entry, overseeing payables, and interfacing with outsourced bookkeeping services to ensure work quality and integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process vendor payments and address any billing issues
  • Set up new vendors and residents in the property management system
  • Process rent payments and provide limited assistance to residents regarding their rental accounts
  • Oversee Property Tax and Insurance payments and manage accrual accounting for them
  • Assist in the completion of bank reconciliations
  • Contribute towards year-end analysis and reporting
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to company processes and procedures
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about property management software and share insights with the team
  • Carry out other general office or accounting duties as required
  • Process Rent Increases, Business Licenses, Unit Reg/SCEP payments and registrations and other special projects.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a bookkeeping role
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation
  • Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
  • Knowledge of bank reconciliations
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping practices
  • Data entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with month-end close processes
  • Familiarity with payroll procedures
  • Experience with AppFolio software
  • Knowledge of residential real estate industry
  • Experience in residential property management.
