Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6 am-7 pm, limited Saturdays, and never a Sunday!
Position Overview:
The Asphalt Distributor Operator/Driver is responsible for operating the asphalt distributor, completing the necessary paperwork, and performing various other duties as required. This full-time, seasonal position involves travel and overtime during peak season.The role reports directly to the Paving Foreman and does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Punctual attendance for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects.
- Safely operate and maintain the asphalt distributor, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Understand and apply correct shot rates for different grades of emulsions.
- Perform necessary maintenance and operation of additional equipment as required.
- Conduct pre- and post-shift inspections, assisting with maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Accurately process required daily paperwork, including time reporting, truck reports, and scale tickets.
- Display flexibility in duties, including working in adverse weather conditions or outside regular hours as needed.
Position Requirements:
- Authorization for a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in asphalt distributor operations or asphalt paving.
- Possession of a Class A CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.
- Basic mechanical skills and background.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal.
- Travel is required. Throughout Southwestern MN, Watertown, SD, and northern IA
