The Claims Specialist performs electronic billing/batch submission daily and reviews all claims rejected by EMR and clearinghouse and corrects claims rejected for resubmission.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of claim type, diagnosis codes, place of service, procedure codes, proper use of modifiers, and dates of service, etc.
  • Submits claims for all payers including but not limited to: Medicaid, government programs, private and Medicare for health center. Resolves all insurance inquiries.
  • Timely submission of both electronic and paper claims.
  • Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare business setting or billing role

Licensure/Certifications/Education:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
