The Role:

This position is responsible for developing end-to-end solutions that enhance and extend a P&C insurance core platform's capabilities. The role requires expertise in both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on creating intuitive user interfaces and robust server-side components.
The Full Stack Developer will work within a consulting environment, collaborating with configuration teams and business analysts to deliver custom features that address specific client needs in the P&C insurance space. This role is crucial for implementing complex insurance workflows and integrations that go beyond the core system's standard functionality.

This role includes:

  • Frontend Development: Design and develop user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular, ensuring a visually appealing and user-friendly experience.
  • Backend Development: Develop server-side logic using languages like Python, Java, or Node.js, and manage databases such as MySQL or MongoDB.
  • Integration and Testing: Develop and integrate APIs, ensure cross-platform optimization, and perform testing to maintain high-quality applications.

Job Functions:

  • Design and develop custom web applications and components that integrate with the core insurance platform
  • Create responsive, user-friendly interfaces for insurance-specific workflows using modern front-end frameworks
  • Implement backend services and APIs to support insurance business processes and data flows
  • Develop reusable components and libraries to accelerate project delivery
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs for system integrations with external services and legacy systems
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms for insurance applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following team standards
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire application stack
  • Optimize application performance and ensure scalability
  • Collaborate with QA teams to develop and implement automated testing strategies
  • Work with business analysts to understand and implement insurance business requirements
  • Participate in technical design discussions and architecture planning sessions
  • Support deployment activities and provide production support as needed
  • Mentor junior developers in both technical skills and insurance domain knowledge

Compensation and Benefits

Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in New York, the expected salary range for this role is $116,051 to $208,250; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.

Benefits: Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our firm’s 401(k) plan upon hire. We offer paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and provides twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.

The Requirements:

Required Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of full stack development experience
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
  • Expertise in backend technologies (Java, Python, or Node.js)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and API development best practices
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Understanding of version control systems (Git)
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Understanding of web security principles and best practices

Required Insurance Domain Knowledge:

  • 2+ years of experience in P&C insurance industry
  • Understanding of insurance business processes and workflows
  • Familiarity with insurance data models and ACORD standards
  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements and compliance needs
  • Knowledge and experience with Socotra, Guidewire or EIS policy administration systems and its components
