The Transport and Customs Coordinator is responsible for receiving and processing transportation and customs requests related to the operations of the Event Solutions division (shows, tours, special projects, equipment transfers between offices).The Transportation and Customs Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting the team in various administrative follow-ups related to transportation.
Your day will look like this:
- Drafting and validating documentation in strict compliance with transport and customs regulations as required (i.e.: Commercial invoice, various customs certificates).
- Daily monitoring of ongoing transportation/customs and problem solving as required.
- Maintain a thorough and current knowledge of trade compliance programs (i.e. CERS, FDA, USMCA, TSCA).
- Perform transportation & customs cost estimates upon request.
- Execute reservations, fill out packing slips/labels, ensure their follow-up and problem resolution, if necessary, of all our shipments according to internal requests received.
- Promote good relationship and communication with our transport & customs suppliers.
- Communicate our needs in relation to our customs compliance for our internal departments with all Solotech suppliers.
- Approval of transport and customs brokerage supplier invoices in the ERP system.
- Active participation in operational meetings and various sales to ensure that our transportation and customs needs are met within the prescribed time frame according to projects.
- Prepare all documents (ATA and TIB carnet) related to the export of rental equipment for contracts that take place outside the country and prepare the handling of certain equipment.
- Perform all other related tasks within the position and responsibilities.
Your profile:
- High school diploma
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in transport.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in transportation of live events preferred.
- Experience in customs plus!
- General technical knowledge of all the entertainment industry
- Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset)
- Knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Excellent sense of priorities and schedule management.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Highly developed sense of organization.
- Teamwork oriented.
