VP/Director of Finance

As the Finance Director, you will be involved in the efficient administration of business affairs, financial reporting, budget planning, as well as the management of internal accounts and payroll systems.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial affairs of the school district, ensuring compliance with established financial rules and regulations
• Supervise the purchasing process of supplies, materials, and equipment as approved by relevant authorities
• Administer the district’s payroll and internal accounts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Manage insurance programs and process claims on behalf of the district
• Oversee the collection of rental fees on school district buildings and properties
• Implement and manage computerized business operations such as fund accounting and inventory systems
• Assist in preparing the annual budget in collaboration with the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education
• Manage educational and grant financial reporting to the State of Connecticut for all eligible local, state, and federal programs
• Oversee the preparation of a monthly financial report for the official meetings of the Board of Education
• Design and supervise the implementation of educational administrative systems, including financial accounting, research and statistical analysis, and payroll
• Provide fiscal guidance and budget planning assistance to Food Service, Rink, and Stadium operations
• Collaborate with the Superintendent of Schools and the Director of Buildings & Grounds on fiscal control in the administration of plant operations and maintenance.
• Hold a comprehensive understanding of ADP - Financial Services
• Proven experience in handling Accounting Functions
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrated ability in developing and managing Annual Budget
• Extensive experience in Auditing
• In-depth knowledge of Budget Processes
• Ability to successfully conduct Month End Close
• Exceptional skills in Forecasting
• Experience in Grant Accounting
• Proven track record in Grant Management
