2025 Summer Internship Finance (NYC)

Overview:
The Finance Intern will join the General Books Finance team, which provides FP&A for the adult trade division of HarperCollins. The intern will provide invaluable help ranging from the financial evaluation of potential book acquisitions to helping editors and publicists reclass their expenses.The intern will work not only with the finance team but also interface with many different departments across HarperCollins from Editorial to Sales to Marketing to Accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Help support the US Trade Finance team with different areas of analysis to support our publishing teams.
- Research and analyze title financial information.
- Lead Post Mortem project: Pull together different financial information to provide profitability of titles that have been acquired and published
- Lead on T&E coding and analysis.
- Support special projects on an ad hoc basis.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Excel or other computational / financial software.
- Education or job experience in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics, etc.
- Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2025 or 2026 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to two years of work experience.
- Candidates must be available to work in our NYC office from Monday – Thursday for a total of 28 hours per week, from June 2 – August 7, 2025. Compensation for this internship is $18 per hour.

- Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
