Senior Security Engineer
Overview:
Stellar Solutions is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support one of our commercial customers as part of a highly talented, highly motivated and high-performing team.
As part of the technical team, you will support an exciting new program which involves design, development, test, and deployment of an exciting and complex space system. As a subject matter expert on information assurance and risk management framework, you will contribute to architectural and mission success of a communication system that will be utilized by a variety of government and commercial stakeholders.
Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications:
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for authoring and updating program security documents (deliverable and non-deliverable) in support of a Secure Network Operations Center (SNOC)
- Be responsible for working with the Solutions Engineering Team lead to appropriately apply security requirements to the various components of the SNOC architecture and SW Architecture
- Directly contribute to architecture and design artifact creation for the SNOC
- Support internal and external customer meetings as the SNOC Security SME and be an important voice in technical security engagements, ensuring customer needs, and building trust through clear and accurate architectural reviews and assessments
- Review and have active engagement on SNOC documents and Covered Defense Information (CDI) deliverables from the perspective of Security Engineering
- Identify Detailed Tasks for Security Accreditation activities or dependencies related to the SNOC schedule and roadmap
- Identify Technical and Schedule Risks & Opportunities related to Security Engineering Tasks for the SNOC
- Lead Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities for the SNOC including submission of paperwork, customer security engagements, etc.,
- Support SNOC inputs for proposals
- Additional tasking and support to SNOC activities in the capacity of a Senior Security Engineer as approved by the Technical Program Manager
- Support design reviews, security planning, report of findings, and resolution of findings for and during system testing
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, or related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in system security, information assurance and RMF
- Ability to express yourself confidently, concisely, and accurately through written and oral communications
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with management, the customer and tenants across DoD
- Detail/process oriented, can multi-task, and can work with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience developing System Security Plans and supporting Assessment and Authorization documentation
- Working knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Clear understanding of security control verification and validation process in assessing NIST Security Requirements and cyber policy
- Experience with various system security assessment/hardening tools, e.g., - SCAP Compliance Checker
