JOB DESCRIPTION

Meaningful Day Manager

Position Summary: Ensures that high quality services are provided in concert with Target’s mission and

values. Supervises staff and monitors services provided to their caseload.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required, two years’ experience working with individuals

with disabilities. Supervisory experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 A.  AGENCY
  1. Performs essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
  2. Knows and complies with all required policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines of Target
and has a clear understanding of the specific regulations used in their department. Follows
regulations and guidelines when carrying out duties and responsibilities.
  1. Successfully completes all required in-service trainings and completes re-certifications as
required; demonstrates a clear understanding of the issues presented in trainings; is eager to
expand knowledge; keeps current with relevant changes and take appropriate steps to obtain
needed information.
  1. Performs duties in accordance with the philosophy, mission, and goals of the agency.
  2. Works as a professional collaborative with all internal and external stakeholders in modeling a
safe, supportive, and respectful demeanor, ensuring the highest quality services to all Target
participants.
  1. Takes appropriate action based on circumstances; provides pertinent and comprehensive
information to supervisory personnel.
  1. Demonstrates the ability to manage personal time by being punctual and gives sufficient notice to
immediate supervisor in case of tardiness or absenteeism per Target’s Attendance Policy.
  1. Acts as an appropriate role model and representative of Target as an agency as well as those
employed by Target and those served. Choose appropriate personal attire based on the
circumstances. Maintains appropriate overall appearance and demonstrates proper personal
hygiene per Target’s Attire and Grooming Policy.
  1. Demonstrates a willingness to perform all essential duties and job functions with the safety of the
participants and self as a top priority; adheres to and complies with all safety guidelines taught in
trainings.
 B.  ADMINISTRATIVE
  1. Assists the Director of Meaningful Day Services as well as other Meaningful Day Managers in
overseeing the daily operation of the Meaningful Day programs in a team-oriented approach.
  1. Oversees a caseload of adults with disabilities. Caseload numbers may vary.
  2. Supervises Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) and/or Consultants. Provides guidance and
oversight daily. Handles disciplinary action as needed with the assistance of HR and/or the
Program Director.
Ensures support staff are consistently implementing programs and collecting data on these
programs.
Oversees and approves schedules according to the allotted hours. Create and input the
Meaningful Day schedule on CIMS.
  1. Facilities regular meetings/visits with support staff regarding their questions and concerns, as
well as their performance.
  1. Assists in staff development and training process to ensure participants are properly staffed.
  2. Monitor’s training compliance among supervised staff.
  3. Assists with coordination of recruitment, interview, and the onboarding process once hired.
  4. Conducts performance evaluations for the support staff within the first 90 days of hire and then
annually thereafter.
  1. Services as a liaison to family members and conducts family meetings when deemed necessary.
Responsible for answering any questions and providing updates to ensure open lines of
communication with participants, family members, caregivers, CCS, etc.
  1. Ensures the highest quality of services is provided to participants while ensuring their safety.
  2. Responsible for completing the Target Summary and Service Agreement (TSSA), PCP
documentation, DSAT, progress notes, face sheets, and other documents necessary for each
participant as well as helping facilitate the Person-Centered Plan process annually. Develops, monitors, and updates Service Implementation Plans (SIPs).
  1. Keeps participant binder/SharePoint files to date and organized.
  2. Reviews all incident and injury reports and forwards them to the Director.
  3. Review payroll and processing staff and participant (if applicable) timesheets and submit to
Director.
  1. Attends Meaningful Day administrative team meetings as scheduled by the Director.
  2. Works closely with other department Managers.
  3. Ensure that all job tasks are appropriately matched to the skill level of the participant and
contribute to the employer’s standards and expectations.
  1. Perform Follow Along visits twice a month and more if time permits to ensure paid job
placement and opportunities are successful and meet the needs of both the participant and the
employer.
  1. Provide supervision and training to Employment Specialists and Consultants regarding job
development model and expectations for job development and career exploration.
  1. Meet with the Employment development team regularly to monitor the progress of obtaining
employment.
  1. Facilitate and ensure all Employment Consultants and DSPs remain compliant with Meaningful
Day training as defined by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) including, but
not limited to, CESP, ACRE, and job coaching training.
  1. Promotes involvement in the community. Ensure that all services adhere to the Community
Settings Rules and remain CSR compliant.
  1. Ensures compliance with DDA and other funding sources regulations.
  2. Monitors CIMS logs, processing staff timesheets, participant attendance, and employment
outcome data. Conducts weekly service log checks on CIMS by Wednesday to ensure funded
support is provided.
  1. Assists with any scheduling/transportation needs. Carroll County only: holds the transportation
cell after-hours along with others on the CC Meaningful Day leadership team on a rotating
schedule. Responds to all schedule or transportation changes in a timely manner and can problem
solve issues as they arise.
  1. Maintains communication with other agency departments, as necessary.
  2. Conducts fire drills as needed. Ensures regular checks on all safety/medical equipment and
vehicles that are occurring including, but not limited to, EOP kits, First-Aid Kits, To-Go Bags, oil
changes, fire extinguishers, and medication administration station.
Coordinates and facilitates quarterly department staff meetings.
  1. Maintains and monitors electronic documents on SharePoint for at least 7 years. Utilizes
OneDrive to back up all documents. Ensures documentation is kept and organized for at least two
years on site (Day Program only).
Attends meetings with the agency psychologist/BCBA bi-annually for consults and BMC
meetings and annually for Functional Assessments, if applicable.
  1. Monitors implementation of BMP’s, data tracking, and overall staff training, if applicable.
  2. Maintains communication with Dimensional Healthcare’s (DHCA) delegating nurse and follows
up with DHCA with any medical issues with participants, if applicable. Utilizes ALCO portal.
  1. Monitors participants medical binders monthly, if applicable.
  2. Keeps Certified Medication Technician (CMT) status active. Performs CMT duties when needed.
  3. Assists with developing partnerships with businesses within the community or
educational/recreational opportunities in the community.
 A.  DIRECT CARE
Ensure the highest quality of services are rendered. Models’ appropriate behavior and delivery of
support to participants. Directly trains supervised personnel as needed.
  1. Transports participants, in the absence of the DSP, Employment Specialist, or Consultant to and
from their day services, scheduled shifts, interviews, and training as needed, in a safe manner and
in accordance with current policies.
  1. Attend new hire orientations with the participant, in the absence of the Employment Specialists.
  2. Maintains physical ability to restrain participants as needed according to their behavioral program
plans. The position also requires the ability to stand, bend, reach, lift 50 pounds, maneuver
wheelchairs, and perform safe transfers of participants.
  1. Works direct care shifts to ensure the appropriate participants to staff ratio when there is a staff

shortage.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned by the Director of Meaningful Day

Services.

SUPERVISION: Supervised by the Director of Meaningful Day Services.
EVALUATION: After an initial three-month period, then annually thereafter during term of

employment.

TERMS: This is a Class 1, full-time, year-round, salaried, exempt position. Occasional weekends

and evenings may be required.
