Manager, Distribution Center

As a Distribution Center Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our new 350,000 square-foot Flagship Distribution Center. You will lead and develop a team of associates to meet and exceed key metrics ensuring that Kyocera is delivering a high level of service to its dealer network.You will be responsible for ensuring that the safety, customer service, quality, cost, and inventory control programs for the site meet organizational and regulatory compliance requirements. You will maintain effective business relationships with local sales, customer service and manufacturing plant leaders as well as corporate business partners.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the successful operation of a Kyocera distribution center Ensure all orders are fulfilled and processed accurately and timely
Respond to requests for information and/or status updates from Customer Service and/or sales reps
Prepare staffing plans and work assignments
Coordinate inbound deliveries with freight brokers carriers
Ensure accurate and timely receipt of stock shipments
Work with freight carriers to ensure shipments are picked up and delivered timely
Participate in project planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Perform succession planning to ensure operational continuity
Ensure company policies are communicated, administered, and enforced
Ensure compliance with all OSHA and MSDS standards
Maintain all warehouse inventory in an organized and safe fashion
Oversee maintenance of facility equipment and machinery
Manage supply of packaging materials and place orders with vendors as needed
Review documents prepared by assigned team for accuracy
Ensure operational goals and/or objectives are communicated to staff
Hire, train, and coach direct reports
Report any operational issues and/or potential service failures to management
Oversee monthly inventory audits and stock counts
Perform other duties as assigned by immediate manager/director and/or other management personnel as required
Qualifications:
Required: HS Diploma or GED
2 years in a lead, supervisor, or management role Minimum of 5 years of distribution center or warehouse or related operations experience
Ability to carry and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis; Ability to stand and walk or move around for extended periods; Repetitive pushing, pulling, and bending required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Demonstrated ability to lead in a continuous improvement environment
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in relevant course of study
