The AP Specialist will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the accounting department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail. This role will utilize strong accounting knowledge, time management skills and effective problem-solving techniques to safeguard the company’s financial assets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review, code, and process vendor invoices; resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
2. Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare an analysis of accounts.
3. Perform monthly reconciliations, close processes, and financial reporting.
4. Communicate with vendors regarding billing issues and inquiries and propose improvements to the accounts payable process.
5. Monitor account balances, track expenses, prepare analyses of accounts and related financial activity to produce monthly financial reports.
6. Collaborate with procurement, operations, and other departments on finance-related tasks.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting process controls.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Prior experience in an Accounts Payable role preferred.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel.
4. Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, is a plus.
5. Superior attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
6. Strong ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors and staff.
