Freezer Supervisor
OVERVIEW ::
The freezer Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the activities of workers, engage in verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments, and prepare the product for shipment. Responsible for studying shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.Effectively utilizes knowledge of shipping procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::
- Responsible for supervising Freezer Associates and other Shipping and Receiving personnel.
- Coordinates and controls handling, storage, location, and flow of finished product through the freezer warehouse areas.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Oversees and ensures that arrangements are made for the excess product to be store in the warehouse area.
- Oversees storage space assignments to handle the daily flow of finished product.
- Oversees and checks the availability of items to be shipped by checking inventory records or conducting a spot inventory of required product.
- Verifies the quantity of cases, "Best by Dates" of products, and adequately logs and identifies this information.
- Identifies and reports slow-moving product(s).
- Identifies and rotates product(s) accordingly.
- Keeps management informed of the status of (FGI) finished goods inventory and reports any discrepancies.
- Ensures that all product(s) is transferred and delivered to the designated location as requested.
- Ensures that all necessary reports and forms are filled out and submitted in a timely manner; and Safeguards and maintains company equipment and property, including Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Ensures areas are always kept clean; Attends all company training sessions. Adheres to all Food Safety/Quality SOP’s.
- Accurately completes requiring Food Safety & Quality Records.
- Communicates any known or suspected Food Safety/ Quality issues to the QA Manager and Department Manager.
- Responsible for reporting any food safety concerns or tampering with the product(s).
- Attends all Food Safety/Quality training sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS ::
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and warehouse procedures and regulations. Must be certified as a Forklift Operator.
- Responsible, dependable, conscientious, alert, and safety minded.
- Proficient mathematic skills.
- Excellent attendance and safety record. Knowledgeable in Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
- Must be able to work in a Freezer Temperature of -20.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor's Degree; or High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 5 years’ experience as a warehouse team member, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Controlled Temperature: 3 years (Required.)
- Food Manufacturing: 2 years (Required.)
- Supervisor: 4 years (Required.)
- Shipping And Receiving: 3 years (Required.)
