The Role

The role of Membership Associate is important to the YJP team at large in order to support the organization’s growing membership base. The Membership Associate reports to the Membership Manager. The Membership Associate focuses on member acquisition and member services efforts, as well as ensuring the growth of YJP’s Social membership by planning and executing the content and logistics of YJP’s Social programs.
The Membership Associate will collaborate with the Programs Manager and Event Coordinator to do so. The Membership Associate will work on a hybrid work schedule having two in-office days per week. The Membership Associate will also attend in-person events on weekdays and weeknight evenings as needed to interact directly with YJP’s members.

YJP’s office and events are located in Manhattan.

What You Will Do
  • Provide additional support to the Membership Manager and spearhead new projects as needed
  • Identify and engage potential members as attendees for upcoming programs
  • Follow up with program attendees to engage them in membership sales meetings
  • Confirm new members and upgrade existing members to meet membership sales goals
  • Serve as a primary point-of-contact for current members, provide customer service, and support member goals
  • Manage and maintain member lead pipeline and keep records of all membership conversations
  • Plan and execute the content of YJP’s Social programs and continually conceive new and exciting program ideas for YJP’s Social members
  • Attend assigned programs to ensure smooth execution and build/grow member relationships
  • Engage with event attendees frequently, collecting feedback and inquiring about their experience and needs to improve the event experience
  • Collaborate with the Event Coordinator to plan event logistics including venue, vendors, staffing, setup/breakdown, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to produce and distribute membership materials
  • Identify involvement opportunities through YJP’s existing programs and engage appropriate members
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience in member acquisition, member services, or sales/fundraising is preferred
  • 1+ years of customer-facing experience
  • Familiarity with the Jewish calendar and traditions and/or willingness to learn
