Physical Therapy Resident- PediatricsFull Time Days
The Physical Therapist Resident is a fully licensed Physical Therapist who is expected to perform basic physical therapy services/procedures, while participating in a structured program of advanced training in Physical Therapy practice. The ultimate purpose of this position is to enhance the therapist’s competence in a specialty area of PT practice.They will be providing PT services to a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.
QUALIFICATIONS- Graduation from an approved physical therapy school. Entry level degree as required by licensing standard (post baccalaureate, masters, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy).
- CPR Certification.
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care which is age specific/appropriate for the types of patients served.
- Basic computer knowledge /skills needed for patient care, advancing education, and research applications.
- Appropriate interpersonal skills to enable positive interactions with patients/families, the multidisciplinary, faculty, and external contacts.
- Declared ambition to become an American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties clinical specialist in an associated area of PT practice.
- The willingness and acknowledgement that participation in the residency will take self-directed initiatives and study outside of defined work schedule to accomplish all required tasks.
- Strongly encouraged to have minimum 16 weeks of clinical exposure to patients in declared area of specialty (including clinical rotation or volunteer experience).
- Current physical therapy license in the State of Illinois, CPR Certification

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
