Cyber Systems Engineer - Sterling
Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Systems Engineer to join our client’s team in either Beltsville, MD or Rosslyn, VA. In this role you will be involved in providing cutting-edge cyber and technology security expertise to enable secure, innovative, and effective business processes. This direct-hire role is located in either Beltsville, MD or Rosslyn, VA (location most preferable for candidate), and operates on a rotating hybrid schedule:
- Week 1: Two days onsite, three days remote
- Week 2: Three days onsite, two days remote
Per our client contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens, eligible to obtain an active Secret clearance (able to start with an Interim Secret clearance).
Responsibilities :
- Azure Cloud Administration:
- Manage and optimize Azure resources, including storage, networking, compute, and Identity Access Management (IAM).
- Architect, deploy, and enhance Azure cloud solutions, ensuring adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Terraform Proficiency:
- Work with and modify Terraform modules to support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments.
- Application Migration:
- Lead projects to migrate on-premises applications and servers to Azure, covering configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Systems Administration Experience:
- Apply a strong background in IT systems administration or systems engineering, with expertise in Cisco, VMware, clusters, and server management.
- Version Control and Automation:
- Utilize GIT for version control and implement automation using Ansible and Azure DevOps.
- Leverage basic scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash for process automation.
- Overall Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate proven experience in cybersecurity operations, particularly with Cribl, Azure, and ServiceNow.
- Apply a deep understanding of cloud security principles and incident management workflows.
- Utilize familiarity with threat intelligence frameworks and data analytics methodologies.
- Exhibit excellent communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications :
- Five years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, three years with a Master’s, or no experience required with a PhD.
- Current experience with the Department of State.
- One of the following certifications:
- CISSP – ISSAP
- CISSP – ISSEP
- Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining an active Secret clearance (able to start with an Interim Secret clearance).
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration.
- Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
