Facility Security Specialist - (Hybrid Schedule)

Position Description :

Come join a phenomenal team in supporting the mission of National Security! This position will assist in overseeing the administrative security operations in Serco’s San Diego, California facility with 2 days on-site (Tue/Thur). You will support Serco employees, multiple Federal, State and local Government customers.

As a Facility Security Specialist, you will be apart of a team of 20 dynamic security professionals. The Facility Security Specialist will report into a Security Manager/FSO.

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your Secret Clearance

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for administering the security process/program such as security clearances, program accesses, and visit requests; as well as contract documentation.
  • Process Common Access Card (CAC) requests to include other site access requirements.
  • Enforce, monitor and comply with the policies and procedures as established within the organization’s procedures, 32 CFR Part 117 / National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), and other government regulations as applicable.
  • Will assist in the development of internal company policies including the security awareness program to ensure personnel are current on the latest procedures.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting facility documentation to appropriate Government organizations to maintain facility clearances.
  • Prepare and submit employee visit requests to support classified visits.
  • Assist personnel in completing and updating documentation needed to obtain security clearances and public trust positions by submitting required documentation to the appropriate government agencies according to the DD 254.
  • Support the Corporate Office as a Security Administrator in providing security-related support as required.
  • Provide other comparable duties as assigned to maintain an efficient operation in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Provide consultation to government supervisory personnel as it relates to security policies and procedures and assist the employees in the process established.
  • Interface with facility and base level managers to provide education, direction and guidance with regard to security issues, questions or concerns; and providing support during formal security reviews and completing an internal review/self-inspection at periodic schedules between government oversight reviews.
  • Assist with the development of and revision of security plans, procedures and instructions as necessary in conjunction with the supported personnel.
  • Present security education and awareness, security briefings, and additional training as required.
  • May investigate security incidents and/or violations and assist in preparation of applicable reports.
  • Collect, analyzes and identifies the trends and potential causes of security-related incidents.
  • Provide prime/subcontractor security support and direction including the development and maintenance of DD254s.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance
  • U.S Citizenship Required
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 3 year's experience in 1 of the following security disciplines:
  • Personnel Security
  • Physical Security
  • Information Security (Classified computers)
  • Communications Security
  • Document Control
  • Knowledge of security processes with preferred emphasis in personnel security actions
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365, and Teams
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems that come up and be solution oriented and the ability to use standard office systems
  • Ability to obtain fingerprints and process them in SWFT
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Great patience, arbitration skills, and flexibility with all levels of customers and employees
  • Ability to work out divergent view problems in a team setting a must
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with related Security experience
  • 2 years of experience in database development and or management, and structure population update
  • Knowledge of DISS, E-QIP, NISS, and the personnel security process

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $54,165.33 to $81,248.56; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
