We leverage our extensive network, deep industry expertise, and a robust support system to drive success from ideation to market leadership.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Venture Analyst to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Venture Studio Director, the ideal candidate will bring a sophisticated ability to research multiple business sectors, business planning, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

As a Venture Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating new technologies, conducting market research, and supporting the development of new ventures. Your experience in market research, intellectual property as a competitive moat, and startup investing fundamentals will be critical in identifying and advancing promising business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics. Analyze market data and develop actionable insights to support venture ideation and strategy.
  • Business Plan Development: Collaborate with the venture team to review and contribute to business plans. Assess the viability and scalability of new business models, and contribute to financial forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Technology Evaluation: Assess emerging technologies and their commercial potential. Evaluate the technical feasibility, market fit, and strategic alignment of potential ventures.
  • Intellectual Property (IP) Analysis: Support the evaluation of intellectual property assets. Assist in the identification and protection of IP opportunities and provide insights on IP strategy.
  • Startup Investing Fundamentals: You will learn about (and contribute to) startup investing by assisting in due diligence, deal structuring, and financial modeling. Evaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations based on comprehensive analysis.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams including the Venture Studio team, technology experts, entrepreneurs, and external partners such as investors and corporate leaders. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Industry Trends & Networking: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and investment landscape changes. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (degree either completed or in-progress). Advanced academic training with a focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, or technology commercialization is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in venture analysis, business development, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in market research, business planning, and technology evaluation is essential.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, business plan development, and market analysis.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property fundamentals and startup investing principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively with a high level of sophistication in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Attributes:
  • Strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovation.
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
Why Join Us:
