Staff Accountant

The role involves working with data analytics and tools such as Power BI.

• Undertake monthly preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Execute general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Assist with month-end closing entries for the recording of all cost accounting activities.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and prepare written explanations supporting the monthly forecast.
• Track, analyze, and report departmental costs, both actual and standard. Work closely with department managers to understand actual and forecasted departmental costs.
• Maintain the general ledger and reconcile accounts.
• Participate in the implementation of automated systems to improve accounting functions.
• Set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and assist in closing the monthly books.
• Provide outside auditors with assistance by gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies as necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve proprietary tools and systems, complete projects, and identify and address areas of opportunity.
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Must have experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger operations
• Capability to perform Journal Entries accurately
• Experience with Month End Close processes
• Knowledge of Oracle software
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule work effectively.
