Overview:
This position is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in Manufacturing, Quality, warehouse and Facility management. Oversee the day-to-day operations insuring that all facility objectives, Policies and guidelines are met. This position works under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Engineering, Sourcing, Planning, Customer Service, and Quality Groups to ensure we are meeting customer requirements and weekly schedules
- Ensure that established policies and procedures are being used and continuous improvement to the Production Operation is ongoing Prepare cost and budget estimates and subsequently assist the VP/Dir Operations in the development, implementation and management of the budget Measure, meet and improve upon company objectives for OTD, Line Fill, inventory turns
- Develop performance standards and production layouts for product flow through specific operations, prioritizing improvement opportunities
- Maintain close surveillance and control over plant operations through perusal of reports, staff meetings, observations, and personal contact
- Collaborate with the appropriate groups to constantly improve efficiency and reduce the lead times for the assembly and delivery of parts through processes and procedures
- Motivate all plant employees, encouraging optimum productivity, develop, train, assist, and advise supervisors and administer company policies and procedures knowledgeably
- Encourage open employee communication
- Ensure the quality of all products being manufactured in their respective areas are being met Develop and maintain a supervisory staff that takes responsibility for the quality of performance
- Responsibilities as a manager include determining manpower requirements based on an understanding of goals and objectives, interviewing and hiring; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Direct the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness
- Continually upgrade, direct, comply with, and enforce Company safety programs and policies
- Review and recommend changes to systems, policies, and procedures and needed to enhance the mission of the organization
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education & Experience- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management or Engineering required
- Minimum ten years experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Prior Operations daily management, process development, and organizational development experience required
- Working knowledge of operation plants that support the business unit required
- Experience in a Lean operations environment preferred
- Experience managing multiple departments
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have leadership skills to successfully manage their staff as well as interact with other functions in a collaborative way
- Self-starter with experience driving toward team-based organizational structure and culture preferred
- Working familiarity with Lean manufacturing tools and concepts
- Ability to read drawings and determine the proper method of manufacturing
- Capable of interviewing and hiring employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance
- Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
- 10%- 20%
