Job Description:

The Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) will provide basic nursing care and restorative care within the facility's policies, under the supervision of licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs). The LNA will support the residents with their daily activities, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment while adhering to all facility standards and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with personal hygiene including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Administer specified skin care treatments as per the Resident Care Plan and facility protocols.
  • Help residents with ambulation and mobility, including range of motion exercises, turning, positioning, and transferring.
  • Support residents with feeding, hydration, toileting, and bowel/bladder training, ensuring proper input and output monitoring.
  • Attend report prior to starting resident care and keep licensed personnel informed of any significant changes in resident care or environmental conditions.
  • Report supply and equipment needs and identify performance problems promptly.
  • Ensure the safety of both residents and staff by adhering to facility emergency protocols, including during fire drills, resident falls, or when redirecting wandering or confused residents.
  • Ensure resident safety at all times, respecting and protecting the rights of all residents.
  • Follow infection control techniques diligently to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of all residents, ensuring their dignity is preserved at all times.
  • Understand and follow the Resident Care Plans to provide optimal nursing care.

Work collaboratively with the care team, encouraging resident participation in their care according to their physical and mental capabilities.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 1+ year of current LNA experience – required.
  • Previous travel experience and experience in rural or small facility settings – highly preferred.
  • Certification: Valid LNA license for the state of New Hampshire.
  • Vaccination: Completion of the COVID-19 vaccination series, including a booster, is required. Declinations or exemptions are not accepted.
