Back End Developer

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services and databases, collaborating closely with front-end developers and other team members to deliver seamless solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using VB.NET and C# to support business functionality and client requirements.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for efficient data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting.
• Work with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server) to create and maintain schema, indexes, and views.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with backend logic.
• Implement data models and design APIs to support frontend services and external integrations.
• Ensure the performance, security, and scalability of applications by following best practices in coding and database management.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, stability, and functionality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing backend systems, databases, and APIs.
• Maintain version control using Git or other version control tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., QA, product managers) to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve team coding standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in backend development with VB.NET and C#.
• Strong experience with SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning for SQL Server.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Experience with database design, schema creation, and optimization for large-scale applications.
• Understanding of API development (RESTful APIs) and integration.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
• Experience with source control tools (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with additional backend technologies or frameworks (e.g., ASP.NET, Entity Framework).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., MSTest, NUnit, xUnit).
