Behavioral Health Court Liaison
Overview:
The Behavioral Health Court Liaison is a highly visible BrightView representative working amidst the justice system. This role will be responsible for coordination of care and advocacy for referrals to BrightView, BrightView patients post-release from jail, and current justice-involved BrightView patients.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Duties:
- Represent "The BrightView Way" via our Core Values of Respect, Inspiration, Service, and Excellence or "RISE"
- Ensure timely responses to requests from justice system partners for additional collaboration
- Attend treatment team meetings and dockets with BrightView patient involvement
- Interpret Behavioral Health documentation and collaborate with center level treatment team to complete Behavioral Health Progress reporting at varying cadences
- Complete documentation utilizing the agency's designated Electronic Medical Record
- Ensure that all documents submitted on behalf of a patient are valid and authentic and that documentation is completed in compliance with regulatory agency requirements and best practices
- Ensure all necessary and appropriate releases of information are adequately completed and on file in order to facilitate the streamlined flow of communication between parties
- Appear in court to provide factual reporting to Judges/Magistrates on patient engagement and progress with BrightView services
- Cultivate an effective, transparent working relationship with Judges, Probation Officers, Court staff, and other treatment providers
- May involve attending meetings outside of standard court hours, attending community events, and coordinating care on behalf of BrightView patients
- Complete all Court and BrightView required data collection and tracking, including specific metrics. Develop and maintain a reporting schedule to ensure timely distribution of progress reports and attendance to in-court obligations
- May provide various other services as needed to foster the working relationship with justice system partners
- Attend relevant meetings with partners, outreach, operations, and behavioral health teams to ensure proper engagement in the communities we serve and remain up to date on the status of our patients and our partners
- Attend required meetings including but not limited to, individual and group supervision
- Complete required trainings including but not limited to, in-services, Relias trainings
- Adhere to BrightView policies and procedures, and professional code of ethics
Qualifications:
Required Education/Degree:
Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s Degree may be considered
Required Certification/License:
LISW, LICDC, LPCC preferred; LCDC III, LSW, or LPC may be considered
Required Work Experience:
3 or more years of substance use treatment experience required; 5 years of experience preferred
Other Requirements:
- Must be highly self-motivated and able to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Must have access to a phone and reliable high-speed internet in a location free from distraction to allow for adequate workflow and protection of PHI.
- This role is intended to be remote as it supports all of our Ohio centers, however, some meetings may require occasional day travel, and rare overnight travel
