[ref. q4873701] Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant may support one or multiple business units and must possess strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally within the organization.
Position location: Deerfield, IL - Hybrid
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
What you will be doing- Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and financial reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including balance sheet and income statement preparation.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Manage key accounting functions such as cost accounting, fixed assets, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, and various accruals.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminations as needed.
- Assist with corporate reporting requirements and external audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
- Stay up to date on relevant accounting standards and regulatory changes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA certification or CPA eligibility is a plus.
- Experience in public accounting and/or working in a large corporation.
- Familiarity with large ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
- Experience with cost accounting and/or international accounting.
In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
