Job Description:

• This position involves providing specialized care to patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues. The RN will float between the Med Surg units and is required to manage wound care treatments, ostomy management, and provide education and support to patients and their families.

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ wounds, including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and chronic wounds.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for wound care, ostomy management, and continence care based on evidence-based practices.
• Monitor and adjust care plans as needed, based on patient progress and wound healing outcomes.
• Provide care and education for patients with ostomies, including colostomies, ileostomies, and urostomies.
• Instruct patients and families on ostomy management, including pouching systems, skin care, and troubleshooting complications.
• Assess and manage patients with continence issues.
• Develop and implement plans for continence care, including the use of devices or products to maintain patient dignity and comfort.
• Work closely with physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
• Participate in care conferences and rounds, providing expert input on wound, ostomy, and continence care.
• WOCN certification is required.
• Time off during the course of the assignment must be noted and verified at profile upload. Requests for time off after upload will not be approved. A maximum of
• 5 days of RTO will be accepted.
• The traveler must be willing to work two of the following holiday periods:

COVID vaccination is required. Exemptions for medical/religious reasons are available but must be pre-approved.

Non-billable orientation: 8 hours.

Requirements:

• 2 years of current wound care experience.
• Certified Wound/Ostomy/Continence Nurse (WOCN) certification is required and must be in-hand at profile upload.
• Meditech Expanse experience is strongly preferred.
• At least two specific interview dates/times of availability must be added to the profile. “Anytime” will not be accepted.
• The traveler must have their own vehicle for this assignment.
