Job Description:
At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry.We are looking for a talented Director of Digital Technologies to join our team at our headquarters in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.
Reporting to the Senior Director, of Design, the Director, of Digital Technologies will provide expertise to the North American Life Sciences market. You will be relied on to deliver expertise in the latest technology and trends within IPS’ design division.You will also interface externally and with all IPS design departments, including process, process automation, process piping, industrial, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, plumbing, and architecture.
This role will require a professional who thoroughly understands the latest digital technologies, including Pharma 4.0, and best practices coupled with a proven track record working as part of a leadership team in a professional services firm targeting the highly regulated Life Sciences industry.
Additional Responsibilities- Collaborating with IPS design departments, develop Digital Technologies services offerings and staffing plans to meet growing demand.
- Collaborate closely with the IPS process automation team.
- Ensure IPS remains at the forefront of new concepts in digital manufacturing technologies so that our engineering and design teams can deploy them in service to our Life Sciences clients.
- Maintain knowledge of developments in Digital Technologies within the Life Sciences industries.
- Articulate and communicate concepts with the purpose of developing institutional knowledge at IPS in the following areas as applied to the Life Sciences industries.

- Electronic identification and location detection
- Advanced Human-Machine (HMI) interfaces
- Smart sensors
- Advanced data analytics
- Augmented reality and wearable devices

- Digital twin modeling
- Interact with clients to ensure “best-in-class” company programs elevate clients’ perception of IPS’ expertise.
- Evaluate opportunities to apply Digital Technologies on IPS design projects to add value for our clients.
- As demand for Digital Technologies services increases, work with Talent Acquisition to recruit, onboard, develop, supervise, and manage department members.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement with respect to Digital Technologies in the IPS design division.
- Develop and deliver reports to executive leadership, highlighting trends, accomplishments, and areas for improvement.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, project teams, clients, and contractors.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field.
- 15+ years of related experience in service to the Life Sciences industries, such as bioprocess, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
- 5+ years of managing technical teams in the areas of Automation Engineering and/or Manufacturing IT as well as collaborating with multidisciplinary cross-functional teams.
- Technical experience and competence with the implementation of process control, manufacturing execution, and manufacturing data systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and practices for execution/operations systems such as S88, S95, GAMP, and computer systems validation.
- Active participation in industry organizations and related initiatives is strongly preferred (for example: speaking engagements, presenting at industry events and conferences, etc.).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and influence teams at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders and drive consensus.
- Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail and the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
- Ability to travel and work effectively with diverse groups domestically and occasionally internationally.
- An advanced degree.
- Has familiarity with building automation systems.
