Position Summary:
Seeking a Collections Specialist that thrives in a fast-paced environment that is looking to join our Finance team.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Collections Specialist to work out of our Teaneck, NJ headquarters. The Collections Specialist is responsible for several tasks which include but are not limited to:
- Place 60-100 professional collection calls daily to customers with outstanding balances.
- Explain and review invoices and statements.
- Process and schedule credit card and ACH payments.
- Enroll customers in online portal.
- Email invoices and aging balance reporting.
- Provide cash forecasting to the collection manager for your assigned customer base.
- Apply payments/credits and debit memos.
- Approve or reject orders and remove accounts from credit hold.
- Create/schedule payment plans when needed.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience required in Collections.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
- Strong reconciliation skills and knowledge
- Billing/Invoice experience a plus
- Cash application experience a plus.
- Strong ability to multitask and utilize 3+ systems simultaneously.
- Spanish bilingual is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience in Sanitation/Recycling Industry a plus.
- Fast learner with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Team Player with strong work ethic
- Excellent customer service skills both written and verbal communication
- Strong professional negotiating skills
- Ability to handle heavy email/call volumes.
