We are in the process of recruiting a Staff Accountant based in Findlay, Ohio, United States. This role is pivotal for our organization and involves handling various day-to-day accounting transactions, maintaining accurate records for general ledger accounts, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage special projects and value-added strategies.
- Reconcile customer accounts, including invoice processing and distribution.
- Facilitate vendor payments, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Monitor bank accounts daily, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
- Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment and identify discount opportunities and stop-payment orders as needed.
- Prepare and analyze financial records.
- Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
- Process payroll and reconcile sub-ledger to the general ledger.
- Review and approve payroll taxes and governmental reporting.
- Assist with annual audit requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Adhere to all institutional rules of conduct, policies, procedures, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Promote work with cross-functional teams and across multiple departments. • Possession of a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field of accounting
- Proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience and knowledge in handling General Ledger
- Ability to record and manage Journal Entries
- Experience in Month End Close procedures
- Skilled in performing Cash Reconciliations
- Ability to handle Daily Cash Receipts effectively
- Expertise in Cash Applications
- Strong skills in Account Reconciliation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Willingness to continuously improve and learn new skills.
