Mechanical Engineer

Job Core Responsibilities

• Implement designs directed by managers and project engineers into CAD models and released drawings.

• Develop test methodologies and equipment for validation of product designs.

• Review fabrication (generally metal-working processes) and assembly & test operations to establish manufacturing processes under guidance from managers, manufacturing engineers, and operations personnel.

• Participate in inspection operations and quality system processes as applicable to new and existing products.

• Follow up on training activities with lessons-learned documentation and recommendations for future engineering staff development.
• Participate in integrated product team development activities which include all technical and operations functions.
• Perform mechanical design and design evaluations
• Walk and mechanical completion acceptance
• Perform specialized mechanical engineering calculations
• Prepare technical specifications for mechanical engineering equipment
• Providing input on design strategy and conceptual design relative to mechanical installations
• Mentoring from an experienced design and projects engineer
• Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming
• Perform mechanical design work and documentation
• Prepare mechanical drawings and develop specifications
• Provide mechanical engineering support to other engineers
• Handling all aspects of mechanical design
• Resolve issues related to mechanical engineering
• Read and understand mechanical drawings
• Evaluate design calculations and data from mechanical engineering perspective
• Developing mechanical design procedures and practices
• Allocate fees for mechanical engineering work
• Undertake site surveys of existing mechanical infrastructure
• Investigate complex mechanical issues to root cause
• Prepare cost estimates of mechanical components
• Execute mechanical designs for assigned projects
