Fairhaven is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Bartender / Server position. Our beautiful, gated community with casual and fine dining venues is located in Sykesville, MD.
Job Type: Full-Time
In the Bartender role, you will be responsible for mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages based on requests from residents and guests. Main duties include verifying the identification and age of customers when necessary, preparing hot and cold menu items, and using the POS to accept payment or create bill to room charges.You will also be responsible for the overall sanitation of the lounge area, balancing cash receipts to record sales, and entertaining customers who sit at the bar or in the lounge by providing stimulating conversation and excellent customer service.
When serving, you will be responsible for following established meal service standards and workflows, while creating an enjoyable dining experience for residents and their guests. Greet residents and their guests, communicate menu items, and facilitate food and drink orders using iPads (POS).
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
- Completion of bartending school (preferred)
- Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) certification is required
- 1-3 years of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant, catering, healthcare, country club/hotel, or cruise line environment
- Extensive knowledge of common drinks

Pay Range: $15.15 - $17.05 / hour. Starting rate will vary based on skills and experience.
