Overview:

An Engineer II is primarily responsible for the completion of Preventative Maintenance work in all rooms/areas. Engineer II is responsible for repairs and maintenance to include but not limited to: wallpaper & paint, grout and tile, HVAC basic maintenance, basic plumbing and electrical.

Engineer II works with Engineer Supervisor and/or Chief Engineer to plan and complete Preventative Maintenance of all Guest rooms according to Annual Task Schedule and in compliance with PHR and Brand standards.

Level One
  1. Responsibilities of Gold Key|PHR hourly Associates:
  2. Know your job. Complete job skills training and possess a clear knowledge of the job, know property standards, listen attentively in Pre-shift and ask for clarification of assignments and expectations. Apply experience and training to accomplish tasks.
  3. Be on time. Follow attendance guidelines and reports to work on time, and in uniform and follow clock in and out procedures.
  4. Be on stage. Associates are friendly, approachable, and always willing to assist. Associates must follow property personal appearance standards, is well groomed, in uniform and practices good personal hygiene
  5. Serve. Conduct yourself professionally and collaboratively with Guests and fellow Associates an in accord with the company’s service culture, “The Keys to Making it Right.”
  6. Work smart. Understand the needs of the shift, use resources properly, complete all assignment methodically and promptly without losing attention to details.
  7. Use your tools. Use the approved tools and checklists to complete assigned tasks.
  8. Measure Up. Associate produces work that meets the standards of the department in terms of volume and quality. Associate meets goals and measures as defined by Department Leadership.
  9. Respect the space. Keep your work area clean and organized. Report any deficiencies promptly to your Supervisor.
  10. Be safe. Report unsafe work conditions or practices and safety or security violations in accordance with company policy.
  11. Support the Team: Cooperate with other associates and supervisors striving to create a positive work environment. Support team efforts through carrying out responsibilities in a constructive and professional manner.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
  13. Associate Responsibilities specific for this role and Department:
  14. Provide general "handyman" skills
  15. Makes all necessary room and public area repairs to ensure asset condition meets standard.
  16. Understands and coordinates completion of PM maintenance on all rooms, areas and equipment
  17. Utilizes the comprehensive Unit PM Checklist to assist with enacting repairs that have been identified
  18. Returns the PM Cart to the PM closet in Engineering and assists with replenishing stock from in-house inventories.
  19. Performs all work as assigned, in conjunction with the PM Team Captain and PM Engineer to include the following tasks:
  20. door hardware, gaskets and thresholds
  21. wall paper repair
  22. touch up painting
  23. ceiling vents
  24. ceiling condition
  25. lighting fixtures
  26. check small appliances
  27. check large appliances
  28. check electronics (TV's remotes, alarm clocks, VCP's, etc.)
  29. carpet wear and loose threads
  30. furniture tight, drawers aligned, properly positioned
  31. electrical outlets work, plate covers in place, lights activate from wall switch
  32. HVAC unit functional
  33. Closet rod, towel bars, tub grab bars all secure
  34. Plumbing fixtures functional and secure
  35. Drapery hardware complete and functional
  36. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all major equipment to include but not limited to:
  37. Laundry equipment
  38. Kitchen equipment
  39. Air handlers
  40. Pumps and Motors

Qualifications:

Type Qualification

Experience Two years prior experience in building maintenance or related industry. Special courses in building maintenance and construction.

Experience Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High School diploma required

Experience Professional tradesmen certification in at least one discipline: electrician, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, etc. preferred

Experience Significant experience with all maintenance disciplines.

Skill Able to multi-task, organized within specific time frames

Skill Demonstrated positive attitude and work ethic practices in order to attain maximum operating efficiency while ensuring adherence to established guest satisfaction criteria.
