Responsibilities:
We have an opportunity for a Data Science Intern to join our Berkley Regional Shared Services team! This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects that involve NLP and Generative AI, contributing to the transformation of our insurance operations.

Key functions include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the data science team to develop and implement NLP models for various applications, such as claims processing, underwriting automation, and risk assessment
- Assist in the design and development of Generative AI models to create innovative solutions for insurance operations
- Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making
- Participate in the end-to-end machine learning pipeline, including data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment
- Conduct research on the latest advancements in NLP and Generative AI to keep our solutions at the forefront of technology
- Present findings and project progress to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker) is advantageous
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms
- Experience with NLP techniques and frameworks
- Familiarity with Generative AI models (e.g., GPT, GANs) and their applications
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
- Previous experience with insurance data or projects is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
