Senior Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Albany, New York. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the mining and hosting industry. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for handling a variety of accounting functions, including customer invoicing, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end and quarter-end duties.

• Handle customer invoicing, with an average of 15 invoices per month
• Serve as backup for accounts payable functions
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis
• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the accounting cycle
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing processes
• Participate in the preparation of SEC filings
• Monitor and manage customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary
• Utilize accounting software systems for various accounting tasks
• Support auditing processes by providing necessary information and documentation
• Handle accounts receivable duties, including processing payments and maintaining accurate records • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role
• Proficiency in accounting software systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting functions
• Experience in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with accrual accounting principles
• Proven experience in auditing
• Ability to handle month-end close procedures
• Experience with quarter-end accounting activities
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• CPA or similar certification is preferred
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
