Overview:

BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator with 3+ years of experience for a U.S. Navy program to work onsite at Point Mugu Naval Air Station in Camarillo, CA. The Systems Administrator will be skilled in managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, and has a strong understanding of system administration, with additional capabilities in light software development and testing.

Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $74,000.00 USD to $121,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers
  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux platforms
  • Perform System monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems
  • Review System and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
  • Manage and maintain Windows Active Directory environment and policies
  • Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
  • May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
  • Implement and monitor cyber-security measures to protect data and system integrity
  • Carry out regular system updates and patching to keep the IT infrastructure up-to-date and secure
  • Participate in light software development and testing tasks to support our IT operations
  • Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and resolve system issues
  • Develop and maintain system documentation for efficient operation and troubleshooting

Qualifications:

Between 3 and 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the job description and Responsibilities.
  • Mid-level expertise in system administration with 3-5 years of experience
  • Strong understanding of network components, i.e., routers, switches, firewall
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux platforms
  • Understanding of cyber-security principles and practices with DOD guidelines
  • Familiarity with system patching and updating procedures
  • Light software development and testing skills, preferably with Cypress and Jest, 1-2 years of experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Linux Professional Institute Certification) would be a plus

Education:

  • BS or BA degree in a Computer or Information Science field or a relevant technical discipline.
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant Associate’s Degree.
Clearance:

Condition of employment – must have a Top Security Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
