Part-Time Commercial Handyman

Overview:

IST Management is seeking an experienced and versatile Commercial Handyman to join our on-site team in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate should have experience in fixture-level work, general maintenance, light electrical, and plumbing in commercial settings.

The Commercial Handyman will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the client facility, to ensure the overall functionality of various fixtures, equipment, and overall facilities on-site. This position requires a proactive mindset with a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Schedule: Part Time- total of 1 day (8 hours) per week, with potential to grow

Hourly Compensation: 20.00-40.00 USD, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Repairs: Minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs, such as fixing light sockets, rehanging doors, and repairing fixtures
  • Maintenance: General maintenance work, such as cleaning, maintaining trash and recycling receptacles, and maintaining and repairing air conditioning and heating systems
  • Installation: Light installation, such as building cabinets, installing and replacing floors, stairs, and piping, and hanging pictures
  • Assembly: Assembling furniture or equipment
  • Exterior maintenance: Maintaining the property's exterior, such as cleaning windows, gutters, and pavement
  • Safety: Checking for potential dangers and performing health and safety checks on lifts, air conditioning units, and other office facilities
  • Assistance: Assisting with deliveries, general portage duties, and helping with remodeling efforts
  • Customer service: Coordinating service with customers and handling complaints professionally

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements :
  1. Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform tasks that may require physical exertion
  2. Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments
  3. Ability to walk, stand, bend, and stoop majority of shift
Additional Qualifications Include :
  1. Proven experience as a Handyman in a commercial setting with a preferred focus on fixture-level work, general maintenance, and plumbing
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  3. Strong knowledge of various types of fixtures, materials, and tools commonly used in commercial properties
  4. Proficiency in general maintenance tasks such as painting, and light carpentry; Plumbing skills, including the ability to diagnose and repair common plumbing issues
  5. Reliable transportation to and from work
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively
  7. Strong communication skills to interact with team members and management.
  8. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work; Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  9. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to maintenance and plumbing work.
