Quality Engineer III

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Become a subject matter expert in UWM’s applications, automated testing tools and testing/defect management
- Design, build and manage automated test frameworks and scripts
- Actively participate in UWM’s Agile culture and framework (i.e., Continuous Improvement Culture, Scrum and Kanban Frameworks)
- Carry out functional and non-functional testing, including Database objects, ETL processes, Datawarehouse, server-side load and performance speed
- Review results of automated tests and taking appropriate action (i.e., file defects, updating test code/data/configuration, etc.)
- Ensure that any areas not covered by automated tests are validated via alternate Mechanisms
- Improve product and code testability by influencing design at the architecture phase
- Collaborate with other functions, including Database Architects, product management, or product development
- Plan, define and execute test strategies for Database projects in collaboration with multiple Application Development teams to ensuring they are released to production with high quality
- Communicate and collaborate within your team and the IT team as a whole
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
Required:
- 3-5 years of experience in database and software testing
- Strong coding skills, in one or more programming languages such as SQL and Python. Nice to have exposure to C# or Java
- Experience with any of the following automation testing frameworks/tools: Selenium/K6/TestNG/TestKube
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience defining test strategy in collaboration with business stakeholders
- Proficiency testing API calls
- Proficiency with relational databases and tSQL
- Experience with non-functional testing
- Highly collaborative mindset and a good team player
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues and solutions in a clear, simple and understandable way
- Computer-related degree or equivalent experience
Ability to work 100% on-site in Pontiac, Michigan
Preferred:
- Server-side load and performance testing tools like K6
- Working with Cloud based platforms and BI Analytic tools
- Experience with ETL Tools primarily SSIS and Talend
- Mortgage knowledge or experience
