Logistics Financial Analyst

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for reporting the financial results of the Logistics Operation. This position will provide the operational and financial status of the department by preparing analytical monthly forecast reports, yearly strategy and budget planning.

What you’ll be doing::

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generates and manages reporting, forecasting, budgeting and analysis (volume, financial performance and inventory management)
  • Manages departmental forecasting and budgeting processes; collaborates with cross-functional teams to review initiatives, expenses, etc.
  • Performs routine and ad hoc variance analysis on operational and financial reporting, provide explanations of root causes; based on current business activities and historical trends
  • Completes cost/benefit analysis on initiatives and special projects
  • Manage Logistics key projects; outline the scope of work, key tasks, targets, owners and track/report projects until completion
  • Generates and enhance routine reports that meet business needs, using data from various internal systems
  • Recommends and collaborates with the Logistics Management team to identify and implement procedural changes, as applicable, to impact future costs savings and/or service levels
  • Manages, tracks, documents and reports Logistics capital expenditure
  • Develops and implements solutions to Logistics operational and financial opportunities, and/or projects, as required
  • Collects, records, and consolidates operational and financial information for planning, control and reporting purposes
  • Creates operational and financial presentations and reports for logistics management and executive team
  • Conducts research and analysis which identify opportunities for new programs, and improvements to current programs, that focus on the three elements of supply chain sustainability; social, environmental, and financial

What we’re looking for::

JOB SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Advanced MS Excel skills is essential and a principal requirement; knowledge of MS Word, Access and PowerPoint
  • Develop reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop
  • Knowledge of ERP systems a plus
  • Ability to clearly present data analysis to a variety of audiences
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within a diverse work environment

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business or Finance/Accounting preferred
  • Three to five years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis
  • Experience in Transportation and/or Logistics highly preferred
