The Opportunity
This position is open for our Austin, Texas or Alameda, CA location in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division, where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions.We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
This Data Scientist will be an individual contributor that works under limited supervision. This individual applies subject matter knowledge in data science. This role will require the capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge to data projects and initiatives.This individual will define and lead projects related to the management of manufacturing data, builds automated software solutions (in python or similar), and drives data analysis processes to identify and communicate learnings to senior leadership.
What you’ll work on- Applies subject matter knowledge and skills in data science and analytics.
- Has a strong background in data science development in python (or similar).
- Define and execute on data initiatives to improve business processes, and drive these solutions through into practice.
- Work independently when needed and drive your own work to completion, but remaining mindful of other team members and collaborating effectively as needed.
- Build, test, and optimize complex SQL queries to obtain necessary data while remaining mindful of database performance impact.
- Effectively host regular cross functional meetings to gather input from the wider team and communicate findings.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Data Science or related field
- Bachelors or Associates Degree with industry experience required

The base pay for this position is $64,000.00 – $128,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
