Walnut Creek - Public Tax Accountant

One of our clients in the Walnut Creek area is looking for a Public Tax Accountant for a contract to permanent placement opportunity.

1. Work under the supervision of Senior Accountants to manage tax return entries effectively.
2. Assist in compiling, maintaining, and analysing financial records and tax-related documents.
3. Demonstrate thorough understanding and application of tax laws, rules, regulations and case laws.
4. Conduct tax research and provide innovative tax planning strategies.
5. Adhere to internal and external compliance standards and procedures.
6. Maintain awareness of the client's business environment and basic tax technical skills.
7. Assist in preparing reports detailing tax implications for different financial scenarios.
8. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
9. A strong passion for working in tax, willing to cultivate knowledge in this area.
10. Exceptional analytical ability, detail-oriented, and strong organizational skills.
11. Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
12. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.)
13. Up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
